Hello and welcome to the Labrys Bang. We are a fandom event which aims to showcase the strong female and feminine characters in My Hero Academia. We are an 18+ only, proship event. Please see our FAQ, Tumblr, and Twitter accounts for more information.

What is a bang?A bang is a fandom event centered around pairing writers and artists to create a collaborative piece. Writers sign up and write a fic, keeping the premise secret the entire time. Then artists choose the fics from an anonymous list, are paired with the writers, and get to illustrate.What kind of content will be accepted for this event?The nature of a bang is that one work must be written while the accompanying work must be art. All forms of art are allowed! Whether you’d like to create illustrations, moodboards, cosplay photos, recipes, or playlists, we’d be happy to have you! If there is a form of media not included here that you’d like to create for a piece, the mod team is here to listen! Feel free to bring up any other alternate art form with us. We encourage creativity.There are no restrictions on what people can include in their stories or artwork. We are a proship/profiction bang and will not treat any story idea differently from any of the others. Our server will be modded and regulated to ensure that all content stays where it should (general, nsfw, or cautionary).What does Proship/Profiction mean?Being ‘Proship’ means that we will allow people to ship/write whatever they enjoy, including controversial ships and content. You do not have to like it, but you do have to respect that people will be creating content they prefer. In simple terms: don’t like don’t interact. We will keep spaces separate for more NSFW/Cautionary content for those who prefer to avoid this content.How do I contact the mod team with questions and concerns?Once our Discord server is open, we will able to answer questions and concerns there. We also have an active Twitter and Tumblr page that anyone is welcome to message with comments or questions. If life happens or if you become overwhelmed just notify a mod and a pinch hit will be sent out for your partner should they request it.What do I do if there is a creator I would prefer not to work with?You will be given several opportunities to express if there is someone you cannot work with– and this includes members of the mod team. We do not need to know a reason, just simply include their name and handle in any form, or ask to speak with a mod privately for this to be noted. The information will be kept private among the mod team and only used for matching purposes.Again we DO NOT need a reason. If you are not comfortable working with someone for any reason, we will respect that. While we do our best to honour all requests, if you end up with someone you would rather not work with please contact a mod IMMEDIATELY upon matches being released so we can correct the error.You ARE allowed to request not to work with someone on the mod team and still be allowed in the bang.What is included when you specify ‘female’ characters?All female characters are welcome no matter their gender expression. Masculine female characters are welcome, butch characters are welcome, gender non-conforming female characters are welcome, etc. We're here to celebrate women of all types, shapes, sizes, and expressions! Importantly: Trans women are women! We will, in this vein, accept depictions of canonically masculine/male characters being depicted as cis or trans women should that be your preference. On top of this, feminine characters are encouraged! The feminine label can be worn or expressed by characters of many different identities. Trans characters who express themselves femininely, characters who are exploring their gender identity, and other transfemme characters are more than allowed.What is included when you talk about ‘strengths’?This bang is meant to support female characters and showcase their strengths. All strengths and power levels are welcome-- physical, mental, emotional, you name it! We encourage representation of minority groups--ethnicity, gender, disability, etc-- and will not restrict anyone's consideration of what 'female empowerment' means for them, their characters, or their story.Can my project include a ship or include male characters?Couples and romantic pairings are welcome for this event as long as the focus of the work is on femme-identifying or female character(s). We will not gatekeep any character's presentation. We will, of course, not turn away familial, or platonic pairings either.While male characters can be present in the stories and artwork, our central focus is on female empowerment and femininity.

Guidelines

This bang welcomes ALL ships and ALL content. The only requirement is that your story centers around the BNHA universe in some way (ie: include the characters and/or the universe it's set in- OC's are welcome) and focuses on a female/feminine character.Writers will be expected to write a story that is a minimum of 3k wordsArtists will be expected to create a piece based on the writer's work that, at minimum, has clean lines and flat colors. We allow other art forms (playlists, podfics, etc) and we will discuss the guidelines individually for teams that use these art forms.Going Plus Ultra! is always allowed, but not expected.Most of all- please have a great time!
